Grape variety:

Voskehat (Kharji) is the oldest indigenous variety growing in Ashatarak and neighboring regions of Parakar and Echmiadzin. This variety can also be found in Vayots Dzor Marz. At Karmir Blur archaeological excavations (7th century B.C), besides the vast number of karases (clay jars) and other winemaking tools, also grape seeds were found which, as a result of analysis, were identified as similar with nowadays Voskehat variety.

The age of the old vineyards of  Voskehat in Ashtarak region of Armenia is over 150 years old. This unique, unrivaled variety is quite demanding for special attention. It is also quite sturdy in the arid and manifestly continental climatic conditions of Armenia (cold winters and hot summers).

The difference between day and night temperature can reach up to 20 degrees which contributes to the highest accumulation of aroma, color and sugar level of grapes.The wines made from this variety have a strong aging potential in the barrels.

Grape variety:

Kakhet is an indigenous Armenian grape which grows around the ruins of the ancient Armenian Capital Dvin (5th century, B.C). It is an exquisite, unique variety which is well adapted to manifestly arid and continental climate of Armenia (hot summers and cold winters). The abrupt changes in day and night temperatures create favorable conditions which attribute to the best properties of grapes. The difference between day and night temperatures can reach up to 20 degrees which contributes to the highest accumulation of aroma, color and sugar level of the grapes. The wines made from this variety have a strong aging potential.

Akhtanak is an Armenian variety of the new generation which is the outcome of the meticulous selection of European Vitis Vinifera variety. It has colorful flesh and exquisite aroma, high acidity and richness of polyphenols. The late harvest ensures the finest properties of grapes and strong aging potential for winemaking.
